Apple Slab Pie using Canned Apple Pie Filling

This EASY Apple Slab Pie using apple pie filling is the easiest way to satisfy your cravings for the classic dessert!

Ingredients

  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts , thawed
  • 42 ounces apple pie filling (2 cans)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup quick cooking oats
  • 2 teaspoons apple pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter , cold cut into small cubes

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Lightly flour a clean work surface and then layer both of the pie crusts on top of each other. Using a rolling pin, roll out to a 17×12 inch rectangle.
  3. Transfer the pie crust into a 15×10 rimmed baking sheet, pressing the dough into the corners. Fold over excess dough along te edge to make a rustic edge.
  4. Spread the apple pie filling into the baking sheet.
  5. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, oats, pumpkin pie spice, salt and butter. Using a pastry cutter or two forks., press the mixture together until crumbly.
  6. Evenly sprinkle over the top of the pie.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the edges of the crust are a golden brown.
  8. Remove and allow to rest for at least 15 minutes before serving.
  9. Top with caramel sauce, whipped cream or ice cream to serve.
